The true lovers knot is the obvious choice for weddings. In the days of sail a sailor would make a ring of two pieces of silver wire joined by a true lovers knot. This would be given to his sweetheart to symbolize the fact that they would be separated but still joined together
Every child, niece and nephew of mine gets knots and a speech at their wedding (whether they like it or knot). In the case above, for my niece, I made a true lovers knot fob for everyone that attended the wedding. The larger knots at each table were for the children under 3 (the true lovers knots are so small they could be swallowed). At the top center is "two hearts that beat as one" which I tied in front of the crowd as part of my speech.
